The Cutting Board of Decay

Full Item Description
The cutting board is made of wood and there are pictures of apples etched to the corners. It is a very pretty object and when out of use. You can detect no 'wrongness to it', if not counting a slight smell of onions. But, when things are cut on it, they quickly start rotting and wrinkling. Sometimes maggots appear from nowhere, squirming out of the food. Even things that are not food will start aging on the board - paper turns yellow, metals corrodes and so on - but it's slower with them.
History
This item was created by a demonic pact with a demon whos tastes rant to the rotten. It has passed from owner, to owner, to owner, as people often wish to be done with it.
Magic/Cursed Properties
See Above.
For normal people the only good use for this item would be to put raw vegetables on it and watch them turn ripe, but they have a good chance of rotting instead. It can also make items look like antique but if left too long on the board, they will turn into a powdery form.

I really like this post. It's short, but I love the details (slight smell of onion) and how to delve into its potential uses (despite being cursed!) to ripen fruit and make antiques. Now... how do I get my players to pick up a cutting board? ;-p
Dalme might be a good vector for this item to appear in a campaign, but he would have to be careful... or have the curse activate after someone has had the board for a moon or so.
This is one of my favorite items. A bigger version of this could be used for the execution of prisoners or for funerals.
neat idea, tightly executed, a little more back story would have been nice, just one more sentence. defining perhaps the other side of the pact?
A very simple item, a doorway item perhaps. Its presence might weaken the barriers so to speak.
This is a pretty little cursed item. Like Axlerowes, I kind of wish I knew a little more about it, but it's nice enough on its own.
This has given me an idea for a new submission. :)
