The Creatures of Hewdamia
This is a compilation of all the creatures I have in the world of Hewdamia.
Full Description
Not in the same sense of, A NEW LOOK subs which take an old monster, creature, or race of the role-playing genre and turn a fresh eye to it. The creatures of Hewdamia are similar in thought.
The full range of creatures in the world of Hewdamia are limited. I do not have the strange and powerful basilisks, Beholders, Medusea and other such common beings found in most fantasy based games. In fact, my typical creatures you do find here, the trolls, goblins, ogres, orcs are not typical at all. Each one is an attempt at being different.
Why should goblins be such an inferior race? They have superior numbers after all. So I changed them completely. Trolls, not your typical troll at all. In fact other than the name, it is possible they have little to do with their D&D cousins.
I always try to make things original although I know there are few original thoughts to the RPG community anymore, just fresh looks. Most of my creatures are just that, a fresh look. Skilled trolls whose craftmanship is sought after by all. giants who are unique, not in their looks (no one eyed giants here, but in their culture and lifestyle.
Please read through these and take them as they are, fresh ideas. Something different than the norm, at least I tried to make them different. So here it is and I hope you find it entertaining.

The children of the west know not our ability. Ironically in their arrogance they ask us for advice and use us as ambasadors often, failing to realize that al lwe are doing is learning everything we can about their kingdoms and weaknesses. They will learn, but it will be when they are kneeling before us in their own cities.

The camp was eerily quiet this evening. The fire itself seemed nervous enough not to crackle; the wind seemed too scared to whistle. These treks into the Blade Peaks always worry me, what am I doing here? I find myself asking that very questions even during the day time now, not just during the night. Tales of rangers heading into the peaks and not returning were always common, what worries me is that myself and the group of rangers are heading into these blasted mountains in search for one such group. How my life would be much better had I not learned the truth. The Oricks are here, small brutish little bastards for true, but ruthless and uncaring. I just want to return home. Wait, a sound in the darkness. A scrap? A grunt? oh no they are here!

From the depths of the void the masses crash through the Gates of Forlorn and wreak havok on the world of men. The flood is an unending tide of chaos and destruction that is everlasting. Their thirst for blood is surpassed only by the rising of the son, on it stands eternal. On the comming of the Flood, the children of the lost god will reign supreme on a charred world where the people are enslaved, and the rulers are Demonblood.

There are three types of Ma`no, each one nearly a different race as they have evolved through the years. They were all created by Sethalis for his master idea to take over the civilized races, but it was a failed attempt. These abominations live in multiple parts of the world, and will never be seen allied together as their dislike for each other is stronger than that for anything else.

It is interesting to realize that in the scheme of the world we are but one oddity. But we are an oddity that the humans and other smaller pitiful races take for the corrupted races of Sethalis. That we are not. I would say they hate us for our superior mentality and superior quality weaponry. As is with all children who can’t have what is out of their reach.

Some claim that the giants were the first mortals to walk the land in the wake of the spirits rising when the gods began breathing life into the souls that Kasal deposited on Hewdamia. As elusive as they are at times, here are my findings of their cultures in my search for the truth.

Choke horrors are nightmarish creatures that give the most knowledgeable and adventurous pause. They are tall gangly bipedal creatures that have four whip like appendages instead of arms.

To kill a Unicorn is to bring bad luck and the hatred of nature itself down upon the foolish. It is said that the mate of a unicorn that is murdered will turn horrible in it’s pain and anger, turning against nature to hunt and kill the murderer of it’s mate. It turns dark and soulless and seeks nothing but the death of it’s enemy.

Blood Spiders are dark brown rust color, nearly the color of dried blood and have a body that is approximately 5’ wide, not including their legs. They have a desire only for survival and are not malicious. Tell that to one of their victims.

There! Did you see it that time? I swear someone is following us. I keep seeing torchlight through the damn trees. I'm telling you, something is following us.
Thom, your either seeing things or drinking to much. There is no one following us. See look . . . wait, they look . . . they look like spiders but they are on fire!

The call to Him is unnerving. The power He gives is unmatched. He is the reason why I turned my back on my God and now worship Him. I will live eternal for the trade of my Soul to a God. I can live with that.

I find them interesting. As a whole these critters do justice upon Hewdamia.
Brilliant work.
Great Codex - I'll need to work through the massive number of connect subs, though in my random, haphazard way.
Thanks Val. Although a lot of these were done back in the forum days so are not nearly up to my today standards. A lot are simply fluff.
