Songs Of Fantasy!
Everyone can think of a favorite song or two (or three) which can easily be translated into a fantasy rpg concept, be it an item, plot, location, or what have you. Just take the lyrics of your favorite real-life ditty, and go from there!
Inspiration for this scroll came after reading The Golden Fiddle by Charlie Daniels..er..I mean Cheka. Not much more to say really. Thought this would be a fun brainstorming challenge! (or not we'll see :D)
End of the Road: (Inspired by They Might Be Giant's 'End of the Tour')
Not three miles off the great rock coast lies an unexplained phenomena. Known as 'The end of the road,' it has become a site of great interest and fear in recent years. The title is somewhat of a misnomer, as no one can really tell whether the road is beggining or ending, instead being a mysterious, five meter long section of cobbled road, complete with the wear of carrige wheels. Many claim to have seen missing sections of road of about the same size elsewhere, and some even go as far as saying they have seen carriges along the road, then drop off passengers, though all reports remain uncomfirmed. The onlything known is that the road suddenly appeared there overnight, roughly three years ago. The one man known to be walking in the area, and therefore a possible witness of the events, has gone missing, many claim he drives an infernal carrige across the road on the anniversary of it's birth.
(Seeing as how this is a scroll I'm not going to go into 'The truth,' I'll leave that up to you)

YOu should probably link his submission to this one Mur...
I've got one I will work on.
I would but it vanished (?)
He put it in work in progress section. Or advice requested...
I've used this technique myself in For Whom the Bell Tolls (Metallica) and Beneath the Willow (Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss). It is a top notch way to come up with new and innovative ideas. I've followed a link Moon sent me and wrote up an entire scenario, or string of scenarios from Metallica: Metallica.

Ah. I remember this link and article. I really liked it.
I have also found a listing of people who did an entire seasons of BtVS based on Elvis Albums.
You know, Jethro Tull's theme albums would be prime canidates for this.
I am really voting on Scras here but I did the same thing with Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls.... small world.
Really good idea!
Great Drackler! do a song then would ya?
I am still embarrased that I cant add a song to my own damn idea for a scroll! :P
I like the idea, and am actually working on doing a CD on it or so. 4.5/5
Oh, and I added The Golden Fiddle to the codex since it's now a full submission.
Explanation of my recent addition.
Amya was never named in the song, and his name was changed to protect the guilty. Yet, they should be linked here.
For those that don't recognize it: She is the Girl, Jessie (Jessius) the best friend, and the singer of the song is Jefficus.
Come on People. Get your groove on and post!
I have been pondering which song to do, since last March, Moon :D I finally settled on one. Now I just need to write it up. See you next March.
March is comming up Muro
I finally finished the one I was working on...
We have a new addition. More people should submit to this codex
I wonder why I didn't vote on that before.
Hehehe... songs are where 99% of my inspiration comes from, and many of my subs here are based off of them. My best example would have to be Blind Mary, who practically wrote herself after listening to the Gnarls Barkley song of the same name. Music is a wonderful muse to those who pick up on it.
How the heck did I miss voting on this one? It is awesome and going on my to add to list...
I would definitely suggest changing this to a codex, so that we can see the expanded descriptions of all the linked submissions in one place. Will definitely consider adding to this when the muse strikes me.
