Full Item Description
This is a sturdy axe. It's blade is wide and heavy, made from a chunk of chipped flint, and is covered in a flaking, rust-colored coating, probably dried blood. It has a haft of some dark, dense wood, with the blade wrapped over with a bundle of dark, dry sinews. The handle is wrapped with soft leather which is stained a dark grey color, most likely from the sweat of a Pictish hand.
The stripes of faded white paint across the blade suggest that it was originally a tool of the Skull Tribe, but the two downy white feathers tied to the handle suggest the Northern Heron Tribe. Perhaps, before falling into your hands, this axe was taken by a Northern Heron Pict from the body of a slain Skull Pict rival.
History
From time immemorial, the Picts have chipped their war-axes in the darkness of Pict-land, and brought them to bear against civilized man and enemy Pict alike.
This axe, bearing the markings of two different tribes (the Skull and the Northern Heron) seems to have been either part of a barter between tribes; or, more likely (since the Skull and the Norther Heron Picts are enemies), it was taken from a slain Pict in intertribal warfare. How it came to be in this relatively civilized portion of the world, far away from Pict-land, no man can know.

Good presentation of a stone weapon in a context other than as inferior to metal. Could be easily adapted for use by non-metal working orcs or other similar primitve groups.
A good idea but plain.
Picts are cool, one can never have enough plain weapons.
Good solid idea.
'plain' is what makes it so interesting, and the last sentence provides the hook!
okay
A simple weapon, with a hint of some potential secret and intrique.
