The Spirit Net
The product of the Entwiner's art, this net is carefully crafted with nearly invisible knots in its fine mesh. These knots speak in the language of Entwining Magic, the words of keeping and holding.
The Spirit nets can take many forms, depending on the culture of the Entwiner and the availability of materials.
The net can enmesh and hold that which cannot be seen - the spirits, demons and ghosts which site nearby but not within our world.
With this net one can capture a smaller spirit, impede larger one and perhaps bar entry to them as well. Things of the spirit realm require immense effort to break free from the net, as normal mortal would have great difficulty freeing themselves from a net of chain. The effort required to craft these items becomes greater the larger the item - not just in time, but in the skill required to successfully weave it.
The process of crafting such a net is long and tedious, with the smallest error creating a rent that the spirits could use to escape.
It is possible to weave into the fibres silver or cold iron - though at great difficulty. The effects of this being potentially injurious to captured spirits.
There are rumours of Entwiner's nets that can catch such things as the wind, moonlight, whispers or even dreams, though the difficulty in crafting such nets would be truly legendary.
Known Examples:
Kervyard's Fetters
The demon Kervyard is bound in the highest room of the Lich King's tower with Entwined fetters. Nothing is allowed in the room that has not been blessed to prevent the demon from using them to cut his bonds - his telekinetic power unabated by his bondage. An interesting contest of wills between the Lich-king and the demon who holds a secret precious to him.
Adressia's Fairy Net
The spoiled princess Adressia stalks the Wood of Saint Eienad, bearing the net, a gift from her aunt. She seeks to capture the small sprites that live in the forest to add to her collection. She must replace them frequently, for her brother is far less gentle with her ‘pets' then she is.
Haydion's Spirit Globe
A man plagued by unseen voices, he had this 10' globe produced at ruinous expense. He sits in here for hours each day, sleeping and meditating, for no spirit can enter to disturb his rest. Rituals to drive abjure any malingering spirits nearby when he enters or exits help assure his respite.

Update: Short and sweet (I hope :)) This would be an Oekaki but it was not in response to any particular quest/etc. It was done under 30 mins in one sitting though.
Very well done.
A nice idea! I also liked the sample nets. Particularly the Lich King's net.
As advertised: short and sweet, and plenty useful. A spirit trapped in a net pleas for the pc's to free it - but why was it there in the first place? A certain individual requires a spirit captured for interrogation and the pc's must find or have made one of these nets. A town is under imminent threat of rampages ghosts of ages past and requires the pc's to go and find as many people capable of making these nets to create the largest one yet: one which can envelope the entire town! Time is running out...!
I agree with SE: certainly short and sweet. I liked the Entwiners (although not sure whether I officially voted on it) and I like the idea of the Spirit Nets. I also think the first sample seems like the strongest entry among the three.
