The Seven Stars

The symbol of this order is the seven simple star in a circle, sumbolizing the seven lands, the seven Deities, and the seven aspects of healing. The Seven Stars are made up of several healing orders from several churches (who have them) and a few academic orders (who do surgery).

The Seven Stars was created to give succor to those wounded in battle. It has expanded its mission to any in need from great disaster, such as war, famine, plauge, quakes, storms, and so on. Each area has a team. These teams have assembled caches of supplies, lines of communication, and organization for volunteers and members.

The Origin of the Seven Star is simple. Healers just heal, with little political thoughts. Certain armies refused to be healed by healers of 'the wrong God', or 'their God' or using that 'dammed magic'. Then the orders got entangled in the political manuvering of the crowns and the other religious orders. Healers were put to death for healing the opposition, or for their religion healing the opposition. It put many healers in danger.

Thus the Council of Argean got together and studied the problem. After six months of prayer and debate, their solution was the creation of The Seven Stars. The Seven Stars were created, not to stop war, but to limit the suffering it causes. Any could join, temporarily giving up any other affiliations they might have. If a country did not accept the Seven Stars, an apolitical organization, it would have no healing at all as no temple would allow its healers to be involved in war because of the dangers outlined above. This subtle blackmail ensured acceptance of the Seven Stars.

Now Seven Star members include clerical healers, surgeons, those they have helped in the past, warriors providing security for them and strong backs to carry things, wagoneers, and undertakers. Rangers and others have joined them since the expansion of their mission.
