The Cast:

The Heir, Sylvie Blackburn: The words of her player 'She doesn't start fights but she'll end them' describes Sylvie very well. Raised by the Historian Morano, she is a fairly well-rounded young woman- if a bit fiery and naive. Morano is both proud and frustrated with her headstrong independence, although he's really only frustrated when she's being snide with him.

The Spy, Valen Aventura: A compulsively-lying kleptomaniac who hopes to someday gain political power in the land- if he can stop pissing off important people and organizations long enough to actually get any work done.

The Drunk Blacksmith, Ruz: A superb worker and craftsman, Ruz has an appreciation for alcohol that is tempered only by his resolve to stay out of other people's business.

The Blind Girl, Adriene: Ruz's adopted daughter. Blinded in an accident in the past, Adriene takes a constant dislike to Ruz's alcoholism.

The Huntress, Bretia Faulkner: Preferring the company of most animals, especially raptors, to people, Bretia makes a living hunting and training falcons for local nobles in the area. She's very skilled with animals and taught Sylvie how to use a bow.

The Ranger, Althalos Yerel: Convinced that trees speak to him, and that trees never lie, Althalos is a very talented warrior. However, the trees do not actually talk to him, he just believes they do.

The Witch, Rowena Foxglove: The local witch doctor, Rowena recently took over the position from her now-deceased mentor. Rowena is an adept healer and spellcaster, and a huge flirt to boot.

The Disgraced Captain of the Guard, Albert Nash: Removed from his post due to the actions of his prior second-in-command, this character wants revenge for the disgrace he has suffered. Is a very capable fighter and administrator, and did a good job of leading the guard while he maintained his rank.

The Heir Pretender, Reginald: <-Just click his name, it's a link.

The Retired Historian, Morano: The now-reclusive historian has raised Sylvie since her birth, and now hopes to place her on the throne. Captured as of the end of session two.

Gameplay

Ruz immediately left the rest of the party in the beginning of the session to try and get a job working on the Frond Estate before the party. He started by talking to his old employer, Arlen. Arlen was able to tell him that Frond had tried to place an order for weapons that Arlen felt he couldn't fill in time. Ruz made his way towards Frond Manor where he found Honest John, the same hunter Rowena and Sylvie spoke to the previous day. John also directed him towards the Manor, saying that armed men had been in the area.

Ruz successfully manages to meet with Hank, Frond' Butler, and get employed at Frond Manor. He immediately begins work fixing their forge. He notices some people in the basement of the manor while he was down there grabbing some chopped wood for charcoal making. He didn't investigate where they came from, which is a tunnel that has been excavated underneath the manor that extends all the way into Pyrim. After finishing his work, Ruz goes to have dinner and kicks off an 8 hour drinking binge. During this time, a drunken worker start blabbering about the promiscuity of Lady Frond.

Rowena began the day by healing a portion of her wounds from the previous night.

Rowena, Albert and Valen stop by a local tailor to get some more suitable clothes for a party.

Sylvie, remembering that she and Morano once visited a priest of Mathom, decides to meet with the same priest and see if he can be of any help. (You all know where this is going.) Reginald, and Adriene decide to go with her. Knocking on the Priest's door, there's no answer.

Sylvie starts heading off into town, stopping in front of the priest's house, and knocking on his door.
There's no answer.
'...odd... perhaps he's not home.' Sylvie murmurs to herself, as she knocks again- louder this time, for good measure.
'I can always pick the lock.' Reginald says under his breath.
There's still no answer though.
Sylvie nods at Reginald after a moment, stepping back. 'Go ahead.'
Right at that moment a man driving a chariot speeds by, chased by two men on horseback.
Reginald looks at them very confused. 'A... chariot?'

'That's... different.' Sylvie blinks as they pass by. '.....as much as I would like to see what that was about, I think we should stick with getting into here.'
Reginald starts to pick the lock when a butterfly lands on his nose.
He stares at it slightly cross-eyed.

'Bloody hell, it's distraction after distraction isn't it...' Sylvie swears, as she goes to peek into a window. 'Keep trying, I'm gonna see if it really is empty.'
The window is so dusty on the inside that it might as well be opaque. Guess the owner gets delayed constantly from cleaning his house.

Sylvie swears again, as she heads back to the door. 'It looks like it's super dusty in there, I can't see anything through the window. Did you manage to get the lock?'
Reginald is picking at the lock.
'Excuse me, can I help you child?' A voice says.

Sylvie jumps at the voice, and whirls around. 'A-ah, y-y-yes!' She clears her throat. 'I was looking for the owner of this home- a Priest of Mathom. Do you know where he is?'

The man smiles. 'I see you have been delayed long enough that I may see you inside my home.' He unlocks the door, holding it open. Inside his house is covered in a coat of dust that could only be described as heavy. There are footprints in places where he moves frequently, and his bed and desk are clean unlike the rest of the house.

Sylvie coughs when she goes into the house. 'You must be a busy man for your home to be this dusty...' She says.

'Life is a series of events.' The Priest sits on his bed. 'Mathom protect us all.'
'Of course. You never know what life will throw at you next. I digress however... I came here to look for something though.'

'Would you like something to eat?'

Sylvie blinks. 'Ahh, sure, I suppose... I'd hate to be rude...'

The man looks around, seemingly realizing that he has no food in his house. 'Ah, I may have to go buy some. Please excuse me.' He stands up, moving towards the door.

'....that was very odd.' She says, before going to look for any sort of records or documents about Baron Frond, his lands, or the Locust's Territory.

There's a loud crash of thunder followed by a heavy downpour. The priest stops just before he gets outside. 'My, what a mess. We will get food at a later time. Now, you are looking for something?'
He comes back inside before Sylvie can begin rooting through his things.

'Oh, yes!' Sylvie nods, thinking better of going through the documents without permission. 'Could I possibly get your permission to look through all of the records you have of this town and the surrounding lands? And about Baron Frond as well?'
'Records? Why, I am a man of very few possessions.' The priest smiles. 'I'm afraid I may be unable to help you.'

'Are you positive? It would be incredibly helpful if you would let me see anything you may have, and I know you must have some records.' (Persuade)
'I came here with Fa- Morano once before and he was able to look at some records then...'
The man smiles. 'Ah, Morano.' He squints at Sylvie. 'You've grown since the last time I've seen you, and I can forgive you that given that Mathom has probably prevented you from visiting me.'

'I'm also very sorry to say that I've come in dire times... Father Morano was abducted by some bandits, most likely because he was protecting the heir to the throne- Reginald here.' Sylvie motions to Reginald as she says that. 'He, myself, and our other companions are looking to rescue Father Morano and continue on to the capital to escort Reginald there in the case that he may ascend to the throne.'
Reginald coughs into his hand.
Sylvie glances back at him confusedly. 'What? He's a priest, I don't see the harm in telling him...'
Cain: 'Oh, there is no harm, child.' The Priest says. 'Although what has been delayed will not remain for long now, I'm afraid.'

'What do you mean by that?' Sylvie asks.

'Morano and I knew each other well, working in the Capital during the time of your grandfather. We had our adventures and put in our time protecting the realms.' He continues to smile. 'But as a group, we grew old and moved on with our lives. It was time the Kingdom run itself.'
He continues. 'Sadly, where we expected others to step up and continue our work, it was delayed.'
'I... I don't understand.' Sylvie replies, bewildered. 'My grandfather? Who was he, what does he have to do with what's going on? And what are you talking about?'
Reginald clears his throat. 'Five men were responsible for replacing King Stefan on the throne Sylvie during the rebellion almost seventy years ago. Morano the Historian, Corran the Creator, Roderick the Warrior, Veracit the True and Matthew of Mathom.'
The priest smiles. 'I like that. Matthew of Mathom. Has a very nice ring to it.'

'Of course... I can understand that much. But what does it have to do with the situation at hand?' Sylvie asks, incredibly confused. 'We need to find out information about Baron Frond, or about the Locust's Territory so we can rescue Father Morano... all of this is incredibly fascinating and all, but I don't know what bearing it has on our situation...'
'....unless... you're saying... -I'm- related in some way to him...?' She says, tentatively.
Reginald's expression is serious. 'Morano's sister was offered to King Stefan's firstborn son, Betram, to join their houses in thanks for quelling the rebellion. She was soon with child, but she died during the birth. To preserve the political capital, the child was given to her uncle to raise, so that the King could produce an heir with another family.'

Meanwhile, Rowena and Valen head for Frond Manor while Albert decides to ride for Castle Darlon even further north. They mostly discuss Valen's personality quirks. Albert learns little of use on his trip to Castle Darlon.
