First Impression:

Remarti is a tall Afro-Caribbean woman with wavy dark red hair, an intense and stoic presence, and a calm and calculating demeanor. Most often encountered in her UAC Mk. 35 Thunderstrike power armor suit. This is a commonly available paramilitary and military suit noted for its large rounded slab armor plating, and ease of integration with third-party parts and upgrades. Outside of the suit, she is still rather prone to wearing the olive drab green Impact Absorbing Gambeson and matching arming cap.

Double-Take

Remarti is a veteran soldier of the Caribbean League where she served as a shipboard marine in the League's blue water navy. She found that she was Terminal Lance and had no chance of promotion beyond lance corporal, and after a few years of being armed Coast Guard or Navy base security, she took her retirement and entered the private sector. Her armor and equipment are her personal property and not issued, and as such are heavily modified. Most of this is to make the armor more comfortable and reliable, not to jack its damage potential through the ceiling or make it invulnerable. She is not prone to long conversations as her accent is strong, and despite having a Federation graduate level education, many people tend to assume she is not intelligent because of said accent. She will have conversations about armor modification, tours on blue water ships, the cuisine of the Caribbean League.

She likes spicy seafood, fried plantains, and other Caribbean fruits, and is a non-practicing Carib-Muslim. To that end, she doesn't eat pork, wears a variety of headcovers with her power armor arming cap being the most common, followed distantly by a dark blue-gold shayla (a square piece of fabric wrapped around the head and pinned in place).

Getting to Know You

Born Elizabeth Persad and serving as Lance Corporal Persad for years, she reinvented herself after leaving the military. Remarti was born and was able to openly accept the things that had been kept sequestered in her mediocre military career. She was free to practice her religion, no longer bound to the dietary demands of the military, and to follow her interests in a combat career. When she was young, her home was badly damaged in an attack by multiple terrorist organizations, most notably the infamous pirates of the Python Patrol, and then later the cartelesque Shadow Law faction.

After joining and technically qualifying for the Power Armor Corps, where she wanted to go, she ended up being moved to the regular naval forces. This is the largest branch of the League military, as the Naval Guard is functionally the Navy, Marines, Army, and the Coast Guard. Rather than being allowed to serve as a soldier, she was retained as a guardsman attached to various ships and units where she and other women like her were moved around as informal Amazon units, ceremonial and decorative.

After ending her military career, she purchased a used suit of armor that was military surplus, and spent a year repairing and refitting it to start work as a private contractor, her day job being working in the food industry. This was equally galling because the League relies on a large amount of tourism for its income, and the tourists don't want local cuisine, they want their familiar Federation Corporate food products. Surrounded by the culinary bounty of the League, with its fisheries, aquaculture, hydroponics, and food export system, they wanted imported nuka-box and insta-meal offerings.

Insulting.

Getting to Know All About You

Then comes the question, how did a decent person like Elizabeth Remarti Persad end up working for a highly disreputable operation like Concordian Dawn?

Fear and security.

The Caribbean League is technically part of the Atlantic Federation, but it isn't an important part of the Federation. It produces food and is a destination for wealthy tourists, and that's really about it. There are no arcoplexes, and the largest settlements are cities that survived the Second Dark Age and trace back to the Petroleum Age. Everything there is dated and old, and strategic resources are limited. It comes in secondary to places like New Themyscira, the Anglophone Amazon island queendom. It is routinely damaged by hurricanes, predated by pirates, and terrorist incursions from the Python Patrol, Shadow Law, and almost anyone else who sees the Caribbean as the Federation's unguarded soft belly. Even the Eurasian Alliance has a problematic presence here as the Federation blue water navy cannot match the peerless submariners of the Eurasian Undersea Fleet.

Remarti was approached by Concordian Dawn's BLYP and its entourage of sycophants and sybarites. The archandroid of the Concordia AISC made her an offer, join Concordian Dawn, and in exchange for joining she would be actively employed in protecting the Federation, and the Caribbean League in real Shadowrunner mercenary style. She would be handsomely compensated, her gear upgraded with the best software Concordia had, and would have the choice of gear from the corp arsenal.

And there would be money donated to causes important to her.

Skeletons in the Closet

Haha, that's a nice story isn't it?

BLYP ghosted into Remarti's cortical stack and ran a proxy hack. Operating under the control of the Concordia AISC, Remarti traveled to the clandestine and unknown HQ of Concordian Dawn where she was placed in an advanced prototype Cohaagen apparatus and her cerebral engram was subjected to a deep scan and digital backup. After the organic components were recycled, a clone series was designed by the AISC and run through the facility Body Farm, an operation run with cooperation from Tomas Biotechnologies of Nuevo Cuba.

The cloned series REMARTI is versed in power suit operation, extreme loyalty, and fanatical devotion. This is done in tandem with emotional dampeners, psycho-stabilizing implants, and body-augmenting implants mimicking a Juicer Harness. These clones are rare, as they come matched with a set of Concordia C-300 Power Armor (an upgraded version of the Federation's Mk. 35) equipped with a rotary electro-pneumatic linear gun, pop up shield systems, and a micro-fusion core.

When things went sideways with Concordian Dawn, all of the existing REMARTI clones were formed into a power armor company and pulled down for defensive operations.
