Background:

Born Maurice K. Marsh, Momo grew up in what most consider to be a rural conservative background before migrating to the sprawling metropolis of Santa Cono. They took to the vibrant LGBT community centered around the Zona Fanastica in the St. Yves community. They made a name for themselves for their flamboyant performances on stage in a series of cabarets, night clubs, and gay theatres. They also made a name for themselves for being difficult to work with, highly reactionary, and politically polarizing.

This translated to participating in a number of start-up productions, cabarets, and nightclubs followed by being bought out, voted off, or kicked out of said ventures. After close to a decade of this, Maurice vanished from the Santa Cono scene for close to two years, technically never to be seen again. This was when Momo Karan-Spade appeared, fully embracing a new permanent aesthetic of couture women's clothing and makeup while demonstrating short-cropped facial hair. What was known was that this new Momo was flush with cash, drugs, and charisma.

The Cult of Perversion

Momo set themself up as the centerpiece of an online cult of perversion built around gender and identity politics. This cult has a moderate following, but deep financial coffers and its impact in Santa Cono are not insignificant. As the head of this organization, Momo presents themself as an almost eunuch-like persona, devoid of sexual desire and interest, along with sophistries about blending genders negating base carnal urges.

Meeting Momo in person requires the applicant to basically travel to one of the worst parts of Santa Cono, Las Comedas Park. Momo celebrates the park as a place of purely personal expression and complete annihilation of the status quo. In the early days, when the Occupy Moment was still in charge of the park, this was not entirely an inaccurate description as it was sort of an anarch free zone. Eventually, this would change as Momo and others like them continued to bring in increasingly degenerate sycophants, hedonists, and degenerates. Pumped full of drugs, completely shielded from laws and legal consequences, Las Comedas Park became a sort of hell on Earth. Eventually, it picked up the moniker 'The Circus' due to the infestation of the Clowns gang.

The Cult provides Momo with online funding, online activists, and a shield to protect what goes on in the Circus. Attempts to crack down on the nightmare that is Las Comedas Park are met with vigorous online protests, petitions with tens and hundreds of thousands of signatures, and even marches at city hall. Momo will make staged appearances, and is most famous for draping themselves in the trans flag and dragging a crucifix to the steps of city hall in a mock crucifixion of themselves as a savior for not just Las Comedas Park, the cult, their drug empire, but for all trans and non-binary people everywhere.

The media sucked it up and begged for more.

The Clowns Gang

While no rival to the ongoing series of leaders of the gang, Momo is the organizer of the Clown's Grand Guignol. This is a mixture of an advisory group to the 'Joker' in charge of the full extent of the gang, as well as a sort of performance group. The members perform short plays to entertain the Joker and their guests, or victims. Sometimes this is a show for cameras to show what an egalitarian and idealistic place the Circus is, while others are murder and rape porn for the audience to enjoy. Is this a performance, or is the man being waterboarded with hot dog water really a police informant? Was the blood real, or was it a practical effect?

To enhance the value of the performances, perception-altering and mind-altering drugs are given out before the show starts.

The money made from manufacturing and distributing drugs to the gang and its dealers is the largest source of income for Momo. Many of the city's dealers have no idea that a large portion of the party pills and other drugs they sell are actually being made in the Circus, or are being run through the Circus. 

Usage:

Momo Karan-Spade is a monster that oversees a criminal empire built on illicit narcotics, frequently tainted with experimental drugs, lethal doses of things like fentanyl, and other contaminants. The empire hides behind two masks, the Trans and greater LGBT community, and the Clowns. These two facets protect each other, the former using online activism and legal recourse, and the latter using extreme violence and murder. As such, Momo is a Neutral Evil villain who can be a mysterious backer running the player characters on missions that seem positive at first and eventually end with Momo doing so wild cult shit.

In a contemporary set game, Momo has a cult of personality and serial killer predilections.

In a paranormal contemporary game, Momo's cult status would make them a chaos sorcerer, or cleric of a dark god. The campaign starts with running drugs, handling difficult people, pulling heists and whatnot, and ends with machine guns and summoned daemonettes and bayonets, or Ghostbusters meets Rambo.

Skeletons in the Closet

Maurice picked their new name from two sources. Donna Karan and Kate Spade were two of their favorite designers, and they couldn't pick just one for their new last name. Momo was the nickname that Maurice's niece called him because she couldn't manage the AU vowel at her age.

Momo has long since forgiven themselves for killing her. Got carried away, a bit too much with the choking when they were ... intimate.

Likewise, they have forgiven their parents for the abusive and twisted upbringing they experienced by not being constantly validated like the other kids in the city, or as seen in online groups. Their murder was seen as a final act of contrition, and the liquidation of the family property and bank accounts was atonement. Momo murdered them outright but managed to pull it off that they were missing persons for four months before being declared dead.
