Jack and the Icicle
A 100-word location, inspired by this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_stalactite) and a classic fairytale.
In the cold cold winter of the frozen frozen North the temperatures drop so low that the clouds freeze.
Scholars believe a permanent ice cap sits in the sky over the north pole, casting that land into eternal shadow. With the onset of winter, the clouds freeze ever further southwards and the skies darken. Great stalactites of ice form, connecting earth to sky. There are legends of men who have climbed these and of the giants who live in the realms of eternal frost above, whose footsteps may be heard in the creaking icesheet. Of course, they are only legends...

Looked up some brinicle images, that is some seriously cinematic stuff. Well done.
I liiiiiiiiike this. So many opportunities and ways to incorporate this into a game. Nicely done.
Very nice imagery and quite the spark for further exploration

Absolutely love this. Great 100!
A fairy tale treatment would require much higher wordcount.
