This type of item is definitely not for everybody, like a rune blade this is as beautiful as it is deadly. It is rare because not only it requires wizards specializing in light, materials and psyche but once a high born lady puts her hand on one she will make sure nobody else in the court will do so. Even if some mages have to die.
In essence it's a dress, nothing more. And on someone with little imagination it is a plain but nice dress in her favorite color. The interesting part happens when a woman with the strength to make the dress obey her puts it on. It starts to transform, as she looks at herself in the mirror it lengthens where it should it parts where she wants it, the colors change to her desire, shadows appear that caress her skin and light flows like water. It will cover where it should through material or through games of light. She can be completely naked and nobody would be the wiser or the thick coat she wears can be as real as the cold it protects her from. But it will not change her face, but a quick fan can always appear...
Now this is all practical on an ordinary person but on someone who moves in high circles it can be all the advantage such a predator would need. Someone who knows how to use it can be as flirty as she need to be and when the wife appears instantly turn back to something decent or innocent. Small objects can be easily hidden as it will mimic the wearers skin color.
But she must be cautious if she wants to seduce, because to anyone physically attracted to her, she becomes even more irresistible, anybody else will probably become more hostile or jealous especially the wife of the drooling baboon that used to be her husband.
On someone with little willpower or someone who looses emotional control for a while(utterly surprised, depressed, sick, tired) the dress will follow her feelings anywhere they lead and change accordingly. This will make her considerably more 'readable' to others, her being angry will make spikes appear, getting horny will make the dress almost disappear.

This is well described and detailed.
It does, however, very strongly echo the themes of http://strolen.com/viewing/Flirting_dress a fairly recent submission.
You are right, I did miss it, actually I read http://strolen.com/viewing/7836 and did not like it very much and thought a 'Flirting dress' could be something cool, I should create one. Reading the original from eclipse it does seem rather similar, should I remove this one? How do I do that?
You can change it back to private in work if you must, but adding an acknowledgement to the original source should be fine. Your take is a bit different so does not need to be cast away into the darkness :)
Why didn't you like what I wrote, and I why is what you wrote you superior to my ideas? You should have critiqued it then. You should not have claimed in another thread that you have written something superior. What could I do to make something more suited to your preferences.....be specific. I tried to live up to the possibility of the flirting dress or at least expand on the idea, and I feel concerned that custos found it uncool. Please elaborate on cool. It is also BS that you didn't read the original flirting dress post and only my flirting dress derivative post, because the flirting dress and its abilities were not described at all in the post you reference.
I guess it's not an objective thing, I'm used to and drawn to another style, so as long as other people like it do go on in your style. To be sure I didn't wand to cause offense or imply that it's substandard and please don't take it as such. I somehow missed the links to original article and when you mentioned Flirting dress by name I thought this could be used for more than it is used to in that story. Then I went to recreate the piece, since apparently I think much like eleclipse. Thank you for offering to make something more suited to my needs, I appreciate it. It's natural that everybody won't appreciate your style as much as you do, it happens to me too :)

A neat dress, and could prove especially handy for a bard or thespian.

Nice concept. Good use of graphics. Extra bonus for being an item that would actually be made with magic... because it is useful, powerful (without requiring massive magical energy), realistic, and not something that a dungeon adventurer will need.
The descriptions are catchy, but could be drawn out a little more. It feels short, chopped if you will, in places. The piece does not flow as well as it could.
That aside... I like it. One paw up.
