Gesthari

Where the ships float, empty, and the ocean lay wide and empty, where the northern lights shine and the winds chill live the Gesthari. Wraithlike predators who ride the storms.

Last Season's Boots

The leather has held out nicely over the years, of course, it's magical. And their surefootedness is quite remarkable. Pity everyone thinks you're daft for wearing them.

Wristbands of the Howling

The wristbands look ordinary. Sure, they may be a couple centuries old, but they weren't iron. They were another, magical metal, and they were strong enough to stop even the biggest sword, if you're fast enough. But they also draw the attention of another, who will hound you to your grave.

“ I was in a game with a GM that had a Masters in History, who made is a point to mention that the local peasants didn't have wheelbarrows. The rest of the players just shrugged that off but I knew that the GM was trying to tell us the peasants were on the knife edge of starvation. All that from wheelbarrows? Yes, because before the invention of the wheelbarrow it took two men to carry that load. In it's time the wheelbarrow was the most explosive production multiplier that the peasantry could get their hands on. This is worth two tips: One about the power of the Wheelbarrow and the other is the moral of the story...that people need to know the point you are trying to make.”

“ Believable magic, like ordinary physicis, operates according to some invariable laws that always result in some kind of cost or 'bounce back'. The grater the magic, the more it should cost the character physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

“ '...the city was built on many levels, linked by stone bridges. But with the improvements in diet and corresponding increase in stature and strength of the populace, these bridges became too low, and the people would hit their heads. The bridges were eventually done away with in 1764, but the scars on the walls where they once jutted out remain, and in Low Bridge Street there is still one extant bridge, measuring about 6' high.' - Chronicler Rasill, Mondopedia, Vol II (The Lands of Hyellia)”
